I grew up making miniature movies with my siblings. For a few years there I was dedicated to watching at least one movie every single day. Early on I knew I wanted to be a film director and I was going to do whatever it took to make it happen. With this singular vision, my filmmaking passion remains strong. I took inspirations from some of the greatest directors in cinematic history. I always loved Charlie Chaplin, François Truffaut, Spike Jonze. I think the best scenes are usually the scenes with good music. This combination of music in film mixed with a love for spontaneous documentary movie making eventually led to smallsongs. I’ve now made hundreds of these collaborative music video sessions with amazing people you’ve heard of & with amazing people you’ve yet to discover. I’ve filmed these videos in Germany, France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, the UK, Peru & all over the United States.
I’m as passionate as ever about making movies. I used to say that I wanted to inspire others through movies the same way that movies always inspired me. Recently I’ve realized that the act & joy of creation is the most important thing to me. I try to consistently do the things I love to do. Making smallsongs and collaborating with other creative humans is definitely something I love to do. This project started in 2019. As I keep growing and traveling around, smallsongs has gifted me a creative home of expression that I can always return to. It continually gives me the opportunity to connect with the most genuine musicians & I love to learn from them. It helps me to change. I think that the choice to express yourself through your art in these modern times is so bold & admirable. So I continually seek to cross paths, even if just for a brief moment, with these kinds of inspiring people. I’m living in Italy these days. Send me a message, I'd love to collaborate!
